The Changeling
So, we are in! The house is awesome, and I’m going to put an endless amount of pictures on my regular blog once I uh, find my digital camera. We still have 85% of our stuff to unpack, and per usual I am procrastinating. Remind me never to move, ever.
My daughter is handling the move well. She’s into the pool and loves swimming, she digs crawling on the grass and tapping sticks together for impromptu drumming. The dining room is sans furniture currently because we are apartment dwellers not accustomed to shit tons of space and she speed-crawls on the hardwood floors playing peek-a-boo behind the hideous curtains that haven’t been taken down yet. But all this aside, she has stopped napping.
Not 100% completely of course, since we got her to nap in the car on the way home from Homegoods, but other than that trying to get her to sleep in her pack and play, or our bed is a big huge happening AINT. She screams like we are murdering her, and I’m not the most patient person when it comes to irrational screaming and thrusting about. If she doesn’t nap, she is a grump, and when she’s a grump, she isn’t much fun. This morning she woke up extra extra early so due to exhaustion fell asleep but when the babysitter [aka my friend, who's an enormous help] rang the doorbell the dogs barking woke her up. Will she take a long afternoon nap? Probably not. Will I try? If I want to keep my sanity, no.
Maybe it’s just that refusing naps stage, where she would rather crawl around and demand 100% of my attention ALL day, or maybe she just swallowed some speed, we will never know. But really, really just watching her makes ME tired, so how is she not passing out mid-crawl?
