Live blogging the Jon & Kate Season Finale: Part 2

Posted March 23, 2009 at 8:32 pm by Prescott

Continuing with the live blogging of the Jon & Kate season finale, second episode.

8:30: IT’S ALL BEEN BUILDING TO THIS! “This” being the season finale, which is technically true.

8:31: Oooh, thought they pulled the trigger early, should have known they only meant they would be getting a new set.

8:32: With obviously a nicer, more expensive chair.

8:33: Stupid art lady, doesn’t know how to spell “Aaden”.

8:34: Looking forward to Kate’s criticism of preschooler paintings.

8:35: Duly noted — no mental meltdown by Kate. That’s coming later.

8:37: I also find it hard that I can’t just be Jon.

8:39: She’s really even thinking about judging which painting is “best”?

8:40: Hmm, Kate picks up hers first and fishes for a compliment. Weird.

8:41: Aaden’s painting reveals an inner ennui expressing itself in the abstract, with a detailed introspective about today’s political environment.

8:42: It’s easier to engage in “culturing” when you get all these “culturing” stops paid for.

8:43: “Doing the dog walking, fixing up the house… getting away from Kate for a bit. Oh, did I say that out loud?”

8:44: In my nightmares, indeed, Kate.

8:50: Oh, the water feature is not going to end well.

8:52: The downside of having them all fall asleep in the car is you have to wake them up and/or drag them inside when you get home.

8:56: Ah, the show is all for the kids. Got it.

8:57: “We’ve gotten more sponsorships, a bigger house, free trips…”

8:58: Jon doesn’t like being recognized, unless it’s by some hotties in a bar.

8:59: Hmm, let’s see, Jon doesn’t want to do Season 5, Kate does. Wonder who’s going to win out.

9:00: So that was the reveal — a big, fat pile of ambiguity. Did anyone guess that in the contest?

My wife commented that it looked like Ann Taylor.

Plus, when the Gosselins were recently on Oprah, Oprah said that season 5 of Jon and Kate + 8 was airing in May.

Egads. Seriously? Is there some bat signal that goes out to alert all the J&K+8 converts that someone is talking smack about their queen whereas they all have to alight on whatever site is responsible and pull the “if you don’t like it don’t watch!” card?

Forget bat signal, maybe it’s the batsh@# crazy signal?

P.S. Does anyone think the follow-up debut of TLC’s next program “Table for 12″ does not bode well for J&K+8?

Can you say back-up plan?

‘Their’ = possessive: This is their show. ‘They’re’ = contraction of ‘they’ and ‘are’: They’re at the store.
‘Your’ = possessive: These are your opinions. ‘You’re’ = contraction of ‘you’ and ‘are’: You’re entitled to an opinion.
So many people have such hideous writing and spelling skills. Perhaps this comes from watching television non-stop rather than concentrating on more important things…like be literate.

Or maybe some people just make an honest typo when “their” trying to leave a comment without spending a bunch of time proofreading. You know, like how you did in your last sentence.

I think there’s another Lauren at post 30. I’m the Lauren from Texas. Anyway, I was thinking about Jon’s comment, “Maybe we’ll be back . . . I don’t know,” and that pitiful expression he wore. Then I remembered reading Jon’s post on Triplet Connection back in 2005 and 06. He caught some flak, and at some point other posters were telling him to man up and stop whining. Jon then said something like, gee, thanks for the support, I’m leaving and won’t be back. Of course he did come back, after a few posters cajoled and begged him not to go away. But others knew it was just Jon wanting posters to make him feel special.

So I was just sitting here working, and it occurred to me. Maybe last night’s episode was their way of hoping that there would be such a huge outcry from the fans that TLC would have to bring them back (rather than possibly replace them with Table for Twelve). Maybe Jon and Kate even thought they’d get more money and more control. But I think the adoration alone would be enough to woo them back to the show. The show is their life; how are they supposed to live without it? LOL

“If you don’t love me, I’ll just leave!”
“No . . . don’t leave. I love you.”
We all know a couple who acts this way.

LOL

Good catch Prescott!

Diane, I would spend less time patting myself on the back for be literate and work a tad harder on being literate if I were in your shoes.

I’m just sayin’ … ;)

I think it was Ann Taylor too…btw, do you all remember the episode where they decided to carpet the house during the winter while all of the kids where there in order to ‘get the most out of their house’ before they sold it? why would you subject your family to all of that stress (remember Kate throughout the ordeal) when you are going to let your house sit for three months or more after you move into your 6200 sq. ft. home??? seems to me they could have come up with a much less stressful plan!!!

one more thing…I agree that the timing of the show where Kate is complaining about a dirty fridge is just all wrong with what we are all facing at the moment…and this may be the demise of the show where Jon and Kate become two people that middle America is now unable to relate to. Don’t get me wrong- I have been a fan of the show the whole time but now I find myself much less interested because I am unable to relate…unfortunately…but that doesnt mean I wish them anything but good things! With all of their good fortune has come lots of responsiblity and they are still relativlely young so they will make mistakes but I think they will ultimately find their way- with or without their show!

Season 5 in May? That’s not much of a break… and I really didn’t like TLC’s clever editing of the season finale commercial (I think they were TRYING to fuel Internet rumors. Not nice, TLC). BTW, I just saw there was a tornado warning in J&K’s area (we just had a thunderstorm pass through here - odd for March, heading up in their direction) - hope they’re ok.

“Anybody know which clothing store Kate was in shopping for herself in the finale?”

WHO CARES!!! Like I said Boycott the sponsors….I’m so sick of Kate Gosselin…Wonder what name she will use when the divorce is final..?

I enjoy the show, however I think that they need to allow the chldren more private moments. There are too many sick people out there in this world to continue showing some scenes. I think the public has no buisness seeing their children potty, or being dressed. It definately seems like they are exploiting their children a little. The daily juggling of that many children is cute though. I think both Jon and Kate could work on being nicer to one another. As far as Kate being the way she is, with that many children you have to have order. I think she could use a lesson in loosing up a little. Everyone from time to time has to take a step back and self reflect.
I hope their marriage makes it.D

what happened to the Kate we saw in the early videos when she & jon were dating???? she ACTED so sweet & totally different than she does now!I honestly do not care how much stuff they are given or even the amount of money they make, BUT Kate is so ungrateful! I am actually embarrassed for her! I honestly do believe Kate had this all planned. Kate knew what kind of person Jon was when she married him. (calm, laid back, goes along with pretty much anything) As I said before, I don’t care about all the free stuff & all, BUT PLEASE AT LEAST ACT LIKE YOU ARE APPRECIATIVE, NOT LIKE IT IS OWED TO YOU! IT ISN’T!!!!!

IN MY OPINION I THINK JON AND KATE DID WHAT THEY FELT THEY
NEEDED TO DO. THE PUBLIC IS VERY QUICK TO JUDGE THEM ON
THIS AND JUST COULD NOT WAIT TO HEAR WHAT THEY HAD TO SAY,
AND I WAS NO BETTER. WETHER THEY DID THIS FOR THEMSELVES OR
THEIR RATINGS IT DID WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSE TO DO AND THAT IS
GET US TO WATCH. THE SAD PART OF THE WHOLE THING IS WATCHING
THE KIDS AND THE TENTION THAT SURROUNDED THEM FROM THEIR PARENTS
ON A DAY THAT SHOULD OF BEEN HAPPY. JON AND KATE WILL WORK IT OUT
IF THEY CAN AND THE OTHER HALF OF THE FAMILY WILL DO THE SAME IF
IT IS WORKABLE, BUT WE DO NOT KNOW THEIR LIVES AND WE NEED TO JUST
WAIT AND SEE WHERE IT GOES AND THEN EXPRESS OUR VIEWS IF ASKED.
I THINK AS A WHOLE WE CAN BE OUT HERE AND BE UNDERSTANDING TO
WHAT THOSE 8 KIDS WILL BE FACING AND TRY AND BE RESPECTFUL TO
THEIR PARENTS WETHER WE AGREE WITH THEM OR NOT BECAUSE IT IS
THEIR LIFE.

I think that Kate needs to remember the trailer she came from. Jon needs to rememeber that he’s really bolding. I hate them all. They need to have everything taken away from them and given to others in need.
