Rainbow Connection - Kermit
Circa 1979.
Before 911. Before Hurricane Katrina. Before global warming. Before Chernobyl. Before houses worth became less than what we paid for them. Before the age of too much information. Before OJ allegedly (cough, cough) murdered his wife and an innocent bystander, before the Oklahoma City bombing, before the Columbine masacre, before Princess Diana died in a car crash, before the Rwandan Genocide, before Tianamen Square, the Challenger Explosion, Branch Davidians, Rodney King, the Asian Tsunami and several wars.
Ah. Those were simpler times, weren’t they? Seems like, even though catastrophes happened, they were just more spread out and you didn’t dwell on it so much, no?
Don’t you wish your children or grandchildren didn’t face such uncertain times and responsibilites? What obstacles and disasters are they going to be faced with? Makes me never want my children to leave the nest.

You know, not every episode of American Idol needs a new post, but I do like chatting it up and seeing what you all think about each week’s performances. Who writes this stuff?! ;-) So I am creating this post that we can use to share opinions and critique contestants each week. So what was my hot pick for this week?

I’m in a hurry to get things done, I rush and rush until life’s no fun.
~ Alabama
Clearly there is one dire shortage above all others that should certainly concern us all. America is running out of time.
All we ever hear about anymore is how busy everyone is. We all have so much (too much) to do and so little time. There just aren’t enough hours in the day. We need to find time. Make time.

Lets be honest
How messy are you?
And lets get even more honest…
If you have one of those super neat [jealous] awesome clean [super jealous] homes where I can eat off the floor if I felt like it, tell me, HOW DO YOU DO IT?

“Politics should not be merely a spectator sport.” ~ Lyndon Johnson
I did not set out to become an activist. It just sort of happened.
I was shy as a child, or so they tell me. I know my poor mother just walks around in a perpetual state of head shaking wonder that the child she had to pry from her leg with a crowbar and coax to even LOOK at someone let alone remove my finger from my mouth long enough to actually speak has grown up to be one of those interminable types who NEVER SHUTS UP.
