Oh for just ONE more day to go back and redo all of my mistakes?! That would be nice! BUT...then again wouldnt do anything but change who I am today. Even with the debt, stress, want and need of more money, lack of sleep and so on I am today b/c of who I was and the choices I made 10-15 years ago. Are there things I would like to have done differently? Hell yes! But if I changed those things or myself back then would I be who I am today? A mother of three beautiful children? A friend to many? A wife? Or would I be someone else who was not as happy? Just b/c I would go back and change things doesnt mean Id be happier today. I dont know, dont know either if I would like to find out. Yes, I made choices and mistakes but those choices and mistakes made me who I am today and put me where I am today...and Im ok with that.

At least now I can share those choices and mistakes with my children and hope that they will learn from my mistakes and make better choices for themselves later. Great blog!

This is excellent! I've figured out in the big trouble I've gotten myself in (in my short time as an adult) that if anyone knows what she's talking about, it's the older woman (i.e. - Mom, all her friends, my old manager at my McJob...)
It's great to see what advice an older woman would give to her younger self. I think there's a book out there that's a collection of these types of letters... I should look that up.
Anyway, even if YOUR younger self doesn't hear you, I do, and I thank you for the advice.

Awesome post. I've yelled at my former-self a million times.
The me 15-10 years ago was such an idiot! I amaze myself daily when I look back on the majority of the shit I did, and I just shake my head. I thought I knew everything! Like the old saying goes, "Youth is wasted on the young."

If only I would have listened to my parents even half of the time, right? One piece of advice my mother gave me that I'm grateful for following; Keep your credit score impeccable. In this crappy housing and credit market, we've been saved by having excellent credit.
