Hanes Her Way Shapewear high-waisted briefs are great under nicer dresses and eve jeans if you're going out and really want to smooth things over. But for everyday, I'm all about the casual sundresses that are everyhere. We have these cheapie women's fashion stores here like Holliday Fashions and Rainbow that have cheap but cute clothes, and they've had tons of dresses this season. They're like $14 to $25 each and a lot of them have built in foam cup bras. They rock! So comfy and easy and they realy flatter because most of them have a slightly higher waist with maybe a little smocking at the waist, and then a fuller skirt.
Spanxx look scary, like...where is my fat going to GO?
It goes where the air in your lungs usually is.

The knock offs at Target work reasonably well. Slightly less constricting than Spanxx (which is a good thing, as that allows breathing), and a quarter of the price. Three kids have pretty much destroyed my midsection, and I'm vain, so I have become a big fan of good foundation garments.

Yay for the good honeymoon, by the way.
Eh, it could be worse.

You could look back at his newborn photos on the "baby's" tenth birthday and realize (sadly) that you were a helluva lot thinner then than you are NOW.

Then you go slit your wrists. Or eat cheesecake. You know. Whichever.
Yeah...that. But, eat the cheesecake, don't slit your wrists (there, my duty as a social worker is over).

The weight will come off, but things won't settle back to where they were. Not if you're from this planet. If you're from Planet Angelina Jolie or Julia Roberts, then you can pump out twins and still look like you're a 13 year-old boy (which I'm just going out on a limb here and assuming is what will happen when AJ has--or wait, has she???--those babies). But, the rest of us deal with a body that betrays our transition to motherhood. Oh well. Just try to be healthy. Avoid diabetes, keep your blood pressure under control, exercise and keep your bones strong. Living long is the key, because all you have to do to look GOOD when you're 90 is be alive.
Okay after I had my twins nothing fit right NOTHING!!!! ARG! Looking back now at pics I see why I was having such a hard time getting into my clothes.....I was bigger everywhere. I just accepted it though and instead of drowning out my body with lots of fabric and frumpy clothes I decided to go the opposite route and buy the jeans in the next size up and buy the minimizing underpants to suck everything in. You know the ugly ones that do well as their own form of birth control ;) I bought plenty of button down tops the ones with collars as they seem to do a good job in helping to appear slimmer and are somewhat dressy so it just feels better than wearing sweats all day. It is over a year later and I am back in my regular pants. It takes 9 months to gain all the baby weight and so much longer than this to get it back off. In the meantime isn't it just fun to try to look good despite everything being bigger. This can be a blessing for those of us who were too skinny to begin with. I like having filled out in places I never did before! :) Baby's got back LOL!
My dear sweet mother gave me a pair of tummy tuck underpants and I almost died when I put them on. I'm serious, I couldn't breath.
