Um, oops.

In all fairness I did answer before you put in your disclaimer and I was going off of this:

"I think it’s a boon to those of us who believe that the more children know about sex, the earlier they know it, the better. While many would be reticent to admit it, most parents secretly believe sex and contraceptive education should begin as early as 6 weeks of age.

If you’re anything like me, you frequently wrack your brains trying explain sex, reproduction and the importance of epidurals during childbirth to your young toddlers."

I thought you were serious because I have seriously had debates with parents who did feel exactly that way! Scarily enough, many parents do want their young children to be taught about sex.

I totally disagree that babies and toddlers and early childhood learners should learn about sex and contraception. I actually think this is why so many children are sexually exploited and abused in this country, because so many adults want them to be part of mature and age inappropriate behavior.

Why, oh why, can't we admit that parents aren't involved with their children, and using prophylactic measures to intervene on behalf of good parenting is so much easier than taking responsibility.

While I do think teens will be teens and experiment given the opportunity, I don't think that translates to forcing young babies to grow up and face the adult world before their time. Let kids me kids. Furthermore, explaining reproduction ought to be the parent's responsibility until middle school and above. The more parent's right are trampled on, the more the lines of indistinguishable behavior becomes. And again, I do think it's a partisan issue. The more the ultra left wishes to blur the lines between child behavior and adult behavior, the more tolerant and desensitized we become to boundaries.

While I don't think abstinence is the answer, I don't think that young children/babies knowing about sex is going to protect children. I wouldn't be surprised if we started hearing about more and more children under 10 having sex as we normalize/condone that behavior for them.

I also think that the ultra-left doesn't care if early learning children are ready for this information or not, it's more about what they want as adults, irrespectively of the children's best interests.

We really ought to be protecting children from sex, not encouraging sexual immersion into an adult world and behavior.

Where babies come from ought to be the lesson of parents, not school mandated politics at such an early age.
