Something makes me queasy about organ donation. It's not rational or right, but it makes me gag when I think about it. It seems like such a violation to your body, but that is so silly because who cares when you're dead?!?

I want to sign up, I really, really do. I don't know why it seems so gross to me, it's psychological for me, but I need to do it. I know I need to do it. It's just the right thing to do.

Thanks for shedding light on this subject. I think it's a selfless and wonderful thing to do!

Great post. I'm a huge supporter of organ donation, when I die I want science to take as much of me as they need, and my family can cremate the rest. I'll admit, it is kind of morbid thought, especially when dealing with a time of intense grief, but I think it is a tremendous honor to the dead to grant their wish of helping someone else continue life.

One thing to add -- simply registering for organ donation isn't foolproof. It's important to inform your family of your wishes and put it in writing, as well.
